Markos Chaidemenos is a Greek pianist and composer who discovered his love for the piano at the age of 16 and developed a deep passion for jazz in his early twenties. Although he earned a degree in Informatics and Telecommunications from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, he chose to fully dedicate himself to music.
After completing his classical piano studies at the Athens Conservatory, he pursued jazz piano at Praxis Conservatory, finishing the program in just two and a half years. He later obtained a Master’s degree in Jazz Performance from the Ionian University. In 2016, he recorded his debut album Remains (Live) during the radio show Jazz in the City.
Over the years, he has collaborated with leading figures of the Greek and international jazz scene and has released several albums, including New Era (2020), Caravan (2021), and The Day After (2024), recently issued on vinyl. His composition The Loss (2023) was featured in the Netflix series Maestro in Blue.
Rooted in both traditional and modern jazz, his playing is influenced by Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea, Mulgrew Miller, and Brad Mehldau. In 2026, he presents Light Beam, a new album blending piano trio, string quartet, and voice, marking a more cinematic and contemporary chapter in his artistic journey.
